How do I access VMware Cloud Availability (VCDA) in Zettagrid?

Broadcom has discontinued VMware Director Cloud Availability (VCDA). As a result, Zettagrid has ceased offering new VCDA subscriptions from 1-Jul-2024. Customers with existing VCDA subsubscriptions can continue to use the product until 1-May-2025. We recommend Zerto Secondsite as the replacement DR product.

Requirements

To use VCDA you will require a Zettagrid Virtual Data Centre. This will become the target (or source) for your replication.

Purchasing for New Virtual Data Centres

  1. Visit Zettagrid MyAccount

  2. Select Compute → Virtual Data Centre from the left menu

  3. Configure the resources for your Virtual Data Centre

  4. Add a figure for "VMs to Replicate" (See picture below)

  5. Proceed with the purchase

Purchasing for Existing Virtual Data Centres

  1. Log into MyAccount

  2. Select the VDC you want to enable for replication

  3. Click "Resize"

  4. Enter a figure into "VM DR Replication Licence"

  5. Click "Checkout" and complete the purchase process

Accessing Replication Configuration

  1. Log into MyAccount, Select the Virtual Data Centre for replication

  2. Click Manage and then log into the vCloud Director HTML5 portal

  3. Once you have logged in, either:

    1. click the menu item "More" and then click "Availability"

    2. click the burger menu, then click "Availability" (see picture below)
