We offer three different sized NSX Edge gateways to suit your requirements. NSX Edge (Compact), NSX Edge (Large) and NSX Edge (X-Large). These fees are charged in advance.

Sizing for Advanced Features
We recommend using NSX Edge (Large) or Edge (X-Large) when requiring Load Balancing and Dynamic Routing features.
High Availability Configuration
All Edges have the option of HA. High Availability in NSX Edges ensures Edge Network Services are always available by deploying a pair of Edge Appliances that work together in an active/passive HA cluster Pair. The primary appliance is in the active state and the secondary appliance is in the standby state. The configuration of the primary appliance is replicated to the standby appliance. All Edge services run on the active appliance. The primary appliance maintains a heartbeat with the standby appliance and sends service updates through an internal interface. There is no additional configuration or management required once HA is deployed.
Per-VM Charges
Each VM protected by a NSX Advanced Gateway incurs a fee of $9.90 per month. This is measured on a usage basis for the previous month. Zettagrid will identify when a VM is behind an NSX gateway.
Charging Example
If you chose a NSX Edge (Small) and protected 4 VMs the monthly charge would be $58.60.
NSX Edge (Small) $19 + (4VMs x $9.90) = $58.60
