1. Login to vCloud portal. Click "My Cloud" on the top and select vApps on the left panel. Click "Build new vApp..." button which is highlighted in the screenshot below. In the pop up window, give a name for the vApp. Select the vDC that you want to place the new vApp into, then click Next.
2. Click "+New Virtual Machine..." button to create a new VM in this vApp. Please make sure you select the correct System Family and OS version. CPU/RAM/DISK resources can be configured here and you change the amount later on in VM properties. Click Next to move to the next page.
3. Select the storage policy you want to use for the VM then hit Next.
4. Attach network to the VM and config IP address. Network configs can also be changed in VM properties as well. Click Next to view configs summary then click Finish to start the process.
5. Click "VMs" on the left panel to view all the VMs. Right click the VM and select "Insert CD/DVD from Catalog..." to mount ISO to the VM. Click here to see how to upload ISO to your vDC Catalogs.
6. Select the ISO from Catalogs and click "Insert" to mount the ISO to your VM.
Once the ISO has been mounted, right click the VM and select "Power ON" to power UP the VM. Then you can start doing the OS installation.

- Log into VCloud Director and Select the vApp you want to deploy your Virtual Machine in
- From your vApp Select "ALL ACTIONS → ADD → ADD VM"
3. Complete Virtual Machine Details
Name / Compute Name ( Try and keep this the same)
Type = "New" if you want to use an ISO
OS Family and OS
Boot Iamge = Select Image you need for your Build
4. Enter correct details as per your Virtual Machine Build
CPU = vCPU's (2 Ghz = 1 vCPU)
Memory = Sufficient Memory needs to be available in VDC
Storage
Per Disk Assign the Following
- Storage Policy ( ioSTOR Bought for your VDC)
- Size
Networking
- Select Network available in vApp
- Selet Adapter Type
5. After you added the vm you can verify ISO added and start VM
