To export your VM into OVA/OVF, here are the simple steps to do that.
1 Go to your vCloud Director.
2. Select your vApp.
3. Right-click on vApp and select Add to Catalog. (Note: If it is okay to power off your vApp/VM first, then you can start Download vApp right away without adding to catalog)
4. If you don't have any catalogs, please create new one first on Catalog tab.
5. Provide name to vApp.
6. Wait until process is finish. You could monitor the process on Catalog tab > My Organization's Catalogs > vApp Templates
7. Once it done, right-click on vApp and select Download.
you need to convert it to a vApp first. If the VM is already part of a vApp with other VMs in it, you need to move it to a separate vApp.
You may then download a vApp as an OVA, which is a single file distribution of the same OVF file package.
1. On the Virtual Data Center dashboard screen, click the card of the virtual data center you want to explore, and from the left panel, select vApps. Verify that the VM or VMs you want to download exist. If not, proceed to the next step.
2. From the left panel, select Virtual Machines.
3. On the VM that you want to download, click Actions then select Convert to vApp. You will be prompted for a name. Just enter the desired name and description then click Save.
4. From the left panel, select vApps.
5. From the Actions menu of the vApp that you want to download, select Download.
6. Select the format in which you want to download the vApp.
7. To confirm the selection and start the download, click OK.
